13/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission announced on Monday 13 September that it had granted clearance to the acquisition of joint control of Tomkins plc (“Tomkins”, United Kingdom) by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (“CPPIB”, Canada) and Onex Corporation (“Onex”, Canada) by way of public bid. CPPIB is a federal non-agent Canadian crown corporation and professional management organisation created by a Canadian Act of Parliament to invest on behalf of the Canada Pension Plan and Onex is active in the acquisition and divestment of shareholdings in companies in a wide range of markets. Tomkins is active in the manufacture and supply of a variety of products for the industrial, automotive and building products markets. (L.C./transl.rt)
