Increasing efforts against Campylobacter infection in chicken farms

Brussels, 25/08/2010 (Agence Europe) - On 5 August the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a report evaluating the factors that may contribute to the spread of campylobacter in live chickens and chicken carcasses. This follows the publication, in March, of a survey on the occurrence of this bacterium in chickens and their carcasses (see EUROPE 10100).

The report notes that: - batches of chickens infected with campylobacter are 30 times more likely to produce carcasses...
