Brussels, 25/08/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is organising a public consultation exercise that will run until Sunday 31 October 2010 on EU Directive 2003/49/EC on the taxation of cross-border payments of interest and charges by related companies (see EUROPE 9885). In its consultation document, the Commission says that the directive has had a limited impact because it has not managed to remove double taxation and can sometimes generate excessive administrative costs.
