Brazil, Thailand and Australia protest against increase in EU sugar exports

Brussels, 02/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission's decision to allow the export (without refunds) of 500,000 tonnes of sugar over and above the ceiling set by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) for 2009-2010 is concerning Australia, Brazil and Thailand (see EUROPE 10067).

Australia, Brazil and Thailand are concerned by the European Union decision to increase sugar exports beyond its quotas, the three countries said in a joint press release on Monday 1 February. They warned...
