08/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - The Parliamentary public services intergroup will hold its first meeting on Thursday 14 January. On the agenda for the meeting are: - those points on the European Commission's legislative agenda for 2010 that directly affect public services; - initiatives that could be launched by the European Parliament; - the conditions and principles for carrying out public service missions to be included in European legislation under the Lisbon Treaty. This intergroup was created on the initiative of Françoise Castex (France) and Göran Färm (Sweden) of the S&D Group, Elizabeth Morin-Chartier (France) and Csaba Õry (Hungary) of the EPP Group, Pascal Canfin (France) and Sven Giegold (Germany) of the Greens/EFA Group, Jean-Luc Bennahmias (France) of the ALDE Group, and Miguel Portas (Portugal) of the GUE/NGL Group.
