Brussels, 10/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 11 December 2009, the European Council is expected to endorse the amendment to the Lisbon Treaty protocol on transition measures for the European Parliament to temporarily increase the number of MEPs from 736 to 754 (until the 2014 European elections, when the number will be reduced to 751) amending the EU Treaty, to which the 7 December 2009 General Affairs Council gave the go-ahead.
