10/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 10 December, the European Commission granted clearance to the acquisition of joint control of parts of JBS S.A. and Bertin S.A. by J&F Participações S.A. and ZMF Fundo de Investimento em Participações, all of Brazil, by way of purchase of shares. J&F is a family-owned holding company. ZMF is an investment fund.
Both JBS and Bertin are active in the production and sale of meat, including in particular fresh and processed beef. (O.L./transl.rt)
