New European Commission decisions on Polish and Estonian carbon quota plans expected on Friday

Brussels, 10/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - At midday on Friday 11 December, the European Commission is expected to announce new decisions on the national carbon quota plans of Estonia and Poland under Directive 2003/87/EC, amended by Directive 2004/101/EC (see EUROPE 9985).

It is highly likely that the European Commission will increase the total number of pollution permits granted by Poland and Estonia to companies in their countries for 2008-2012 under the EU carbon trading scheme.
