Relief after agreement on Czech opt-out - Lisbon Treaty should take effect on 1 December

Brussels, 30/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - During the evening of Thursday 29 October, the European Council agreed to the Czech Republic's request for an “opt-out” on the Charter of Fundamental Rights in the Lisbon Treaty, thus clearing the last political hurdle on the way to finalising the ratification process for the new treaty.
