30/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - During a final European Council press conference, the president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, reaffirmed on Friday 30 October, that Russia and Ukraine should solve their gas dispute themselves. “We hope that if these countries have problems they can sort them out in a constructive spirit” said Mr Barroso, while stressing that the subject had not been tackled at the EU leaders' meeting.
