GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/court of auditors

03/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - The first stone of the new “K3 Building”, the second extension to the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg, was laid on Wednesday 1 July. The aim is to have all the Court staff on the same site at the Kirchberg Plateau. With the K3 extension, the Court complex, which already comprises the “K1 Building” and the first extension, the “K2 Building”, will be much bigger. The “K2” and “K3” extensions will mean that the increased staff following the different accessions will be able to be housed. Work on the “K3” is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2009, with the building due to be completed by 2012. With a total above ground floor area of 21,700m2, the new building will provide office space for 487 members of staff and will have 171 parking places. (L.C./transl.rt)
