19/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has launched a call for proposals concerning information action in the context of fundamental rights. The Community's financial support (maximum 80% of the total eligible cost) should be between EUR 115,000 and 150,000 per project and last from 12 to 24 months. The budget available is EUR 460,000 (new budgetary line B5-850N of the 2002 budget). The development of information tools on fundamental rights had been recommended by the European Parliament in its annual report on human rights in the EU in 2000. Proposals may be forwarded to the Commission until 15 October 2002. The call for proposals appeared in the Official Journal C218 of 14 September.
