09/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission adopted a communication from Neil Kinnock making several minor amendments to the "reform package" of the statute of the European public service. These changes are to the text concerning early retirement (it is more precisely a matter of total or partial suppression of the coefficients for correcting pension rights) and the eligibility of grade A6 officials to accede to middle management posts (the aim is to ensure better continuity in promotion by guaranteeing that the A6 official will be re-categorised as soon as the new statute takes effect, to grade A9 of the new career structure - equivalent to the current A5).
