06/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Organisation for European Cooperation and Development (OECD) announced that Aruba has pledged to eliminate its harmful tax practices by 31 December 2005. Aruba, which was among the 35 countries or territories identified by the OECD as meeting the technical criteria for being a "tax haven", will take part at the next meeting of the working group of the OECD World forum. This forum will be examining, from 10 to 13 July, in Malta, how to implement agreements for the exchange of tax information. Alongside the OECD member countries, other countries or territories that made similar commitments will also attend. These include the Bermudas, the Cayman Islands, Cyprus, the Isle of Man, Malta, Mauritius, the Dutch Antilles, Saint-Marin and the Seychelles.
