- Italy: In the context of an Italian governmental decree organising the sale of part of the ENEL electricity generating plants in the aim of liberalising the sector, the regional electricity distribution companies AEM of Milan, AEM of Turin and ACEA of Rome announced they were applying for acquisition of part of these plants. The companies up for sale are EUROGEN, ELETTROGEN and INTERPOWER. - Turkey: The Turkish government has announced, in the context of economic reforms implemented, a privatisation programme of $7.6 billion.
