20/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - Ministerial Panel meeting in Vienna to discuss posting of workers. The labour ministers of 10 EU member states met in Vienna on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 May to try to defuse the tensions that exist on the European Commission's proposal bringing targeted revision of the 1996 directive on the posting of workers (see EUROPE 11548 and 11549). Among the ministers attending the meeting, three (from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia) were from countries involved in triggering the “yellow card” procedure calling for the text that had been tabled to be withdrawn. Also attending were the Austrian, Belgian, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Luxembourg and Swedish ministers and European Employment and Social affairs Commissioner Marianne Thyssen. (JK)
