08/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 8 October, the European Commission authorised a Polish scheme allowing limited amounts of aid to companies encountering financial difficulties pursuant to the credit crunch brought on by the current economic crisis. The scheme allows aid to be granted until 31 December 2010 in the form of direct subsidies and debt conversion. It does not apply to companies that were already experiencing difficulties on 1 July 2008 (i.e. before the credit squeeze)....
