Commission to recover €214.6 million of CAP expenditure from 19 Member States

Brussels, 29/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - A total of € 214.6 million of EU farm money unduly spent by 19 member states is being claimed back as a result of a decision adopted by the European Commission announced on Tuesday 29 September 2009. The money returns to the Community budget. Member states are responsible for paying out and checking expenditure under the common agricultural policy (CAP), and the Commission is required to ensure that member states have made correct use of the...
