23/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 23 September, the European Commission approved plans to take over the Austria generic pharmaceutical product manufacturer, EBEWE Spezial-Pharma Holding, by Novartis, a Swiss company which specialises in both originator and generic products. Further to its investigations, the Commission concluded that neither the overlap in activities nor the combined market shares of the parties were likely to cause any obstacles to competition.
