Brussels, 18/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - Germany's ratification of the Lisbon Treaty was made possible on Friday 18 September, when the upper chamber of the German parliament, the Bundesrat, approved the legislative changes (Begleitgesetze) demanded by the country's constitutional court. The amendments in question were endorsed by the lower chamber, the Bundestag, on 8 September (see EUROPE 9972). The president of Germany, Horst Köhler, can now sign the German law ratifying the new EU treaty....
