18/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - On 15 September, the European Commission adopted a draft position to be argued by the EU within the South East Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (SEAFO). The Commission proposes that the EU seek “stringent” conservation and management measures for some stocks. It also recommends: - measures to ensure that fishery operations do not kill or harm seabirds, cetaceans, seals and marine turtles; - measures to protect vulnerable marine ecosystems. (L.C./transl.rt)
