Brussels, 17/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - According to French Secretary of State for European Affairs Pierre Lellouche, there is considerable opposition within the European Council to future accession by Turkey to the EU. France and Germany have so far been the only member states to clearly take a stance against Turkey's membership (Paris and Berlin call for a “privileged partnership” with Ankara).
