They are Ernest Glinne, of Belgium, who served as MEP from 1968 to 1994 and president of the Socialist Group from 1979 to 1984, and Sir (later Lord) Christopher Prout of Britain, MEP from 1979 to 1994 and president of the Group of European Democrats from 1989 to 1994.
