Brussels, 17/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - Put under pressure by MEPs, the Council of the EU has agreed to re-open negotiations next year, with the US authorities on the transfer of European citizens' banking data. The re-negotiations could therefore take place according to the rules of the Lisbon Treaty, which stipulates that Parliament will have to give its assent on agreements of this nature.
