Some marine biotoxins are harmful to health and “mouse” test is unreliable, says EFSA

Brussels, 28/08/2009 (Agence Europe) - On 26 August, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) delivered a mixed opinion on the dangers to human health of eating shellfish contaminated with marine biotoxins. EFSA was also critical of the reliability of “mouse” safety tests used on some shellfish, including oysters.
