Agreement on draft regulation on novel foods - Rules extended to cover food made from cloned animals' offspring

Brussels, 25/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 22 June 2009, the EU Council of Ministers reached agreements in principle without debate on a draft EU regulation on novel food with the aim of encouraging the development and sale of safe innovative food in the EU and ensuring a high level of food safety and protection for human health.
