Semeta to take over from Grybauskaite at budget

Brussels, 24/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - The current finance minister in the Lithuanian government, Algirdas Gediminas Semeta has been put forward by his government to the president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, to take over from Dalia Grybauskaite (Lithuanian president elect) as European Commissioner for the budget and financial programming. Before becoming finance minister, Semeta, a 47 year old economist, was president of the national stock market monitoring committee....
