Accession negotiations with Croatia still suspended - Turkey to open new chapter on 30 June

Brussels, 24/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - Following the breakdown (temporary?) in the talks between Slovenia and Croatia on finding a solution to their border dispute (EUROPE 9926), Croatia's accession negotiations with the EU remain on hold. On Wednesday 24 June, ambassadors from member states (COREPER) pointed out that due to the Slovenian veto, they did not have the required unanimity at the Council to move forward in accession talks with Zagreb.
