Brussels, 12/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 11 June, the EU Council of Ministers adopted, without debate, a regulation updating the rules on the European Globalisation adjustment Fund (EGF) in the light of the current economic and financial crisis. The new regulation, which will apply to all EGF requests received since 1 May 2009, is a compromise with the European Parliament. Germany voted against the text, and the United Kingdom and Latvia abstained.
