Brussels, 12/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) said on Thursday 11 June that it was unlikely that antibiotic resistance marker genes in genetically modified (GM) plants pose health and environmental risks. Two of the members of its expert scientific BIOHAZ group expressed a different, minority, opinion. This is the first time that agreement has not been unanimous.
