Scientific Committee puts into perspective dangers to children's health from phthalates in school supplies

Brussels, 11/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - Concerns for the health of children who regularly chew on school supplies, such as rubbers, containing phthalates (chemical substances used to make plastics softer and more flexible) have been calmed by the publication of an opinion from the European Commission Scientific Committee on Health and Environmental Risks (SCHER).
