11/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - As foreseen, the Transport Council authorised the European Commission, on Thursday 11 June, to begin negotiation with Georgia with a view to concluding a comprehensive air transport agreement. Such an agreement would allow mutual opening of air markets and Georgia's full integration into European aviation structures. Talks may begin this autumn, but the exact date has still to be set.
