Brussels, 17/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - The Czech Presidency of the EU has invited the Belarus president, Alexander Lukashenko, to the 7 May Eastern Partnership launch summit in Prague, announced the Czech foreign minister, Karel Schwarzenberg, on Friday. The invitation was handed to President Lukashenko by the president-in-office of the Council of the EU at a meeting with the Belarus foreign minister, Sergey Martynov, in Minsk on 17 April 2009. Schwarzenberg said that Lukashenko had not yet indicated who would represent Belarus at the summit, probably because he had not yet decided himself. (H.B./transl.fl)
