Brussels, 27/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - At a meeting with Croatian and Slovenian foreign ministers in Brussels on 25 March, Commissioner Olli Rehn presented an amended version of his offer of mediation to help the two countries settle their border dispute and, thus, break the deadlock in Croatia's accession negotiations. No information has filtered out on the new proposal. Zagreb and Ljubljana will assess the content and decide on their response in the coming week, before a further trilateral meeting with the Commission. The issue is due to be discussed, at least on the sidelines, at the informal (“Gymnich”) meeting of foreign ministers this weekend in the Czech Republic (see related article). (H.B./transl.rt)
