Brussels, 27/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 27 March, the European Commission approved the joint venture between Vodaphone Australia Limited (Australia), belonging to the group Vodaphone Group plc (UK) and Hutchinson 3G Australia Ltd (“HWL”, Hong Kong). The new entity will be jointly controlled by Vodaphone and HWL. The Commission also cleared the proposed concentration that would see Oaktree (USA) acquire joint control of Countrywide plc (UK), which is currently wholly owned by the Apollo group (USA). Finally, the Commission gave the go-ahead to the proposed acquisition whereby Game Show Network, LLC (USA), jointly owned by Liberty Media Corporation (USA) and Sony Pictures Entertainment (USA) will acquire sole control of Fun Technologies, Inc.
