Presidency announces two informal summits: one to counter protectionism, the other to manage social impact of crisis

Brussels, 11/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - The Czech Presidency has decided to bring all EU heads of state and government together for an exceptional summit in Brussels on 1 March. The scale of the crisis itself and the risk of uncoordinated responses that could lead to protectionism are the reasons behind the convening of the informal meeting, said Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek on Wednesday 11 February.
