Formal investigation procedure opens into Austrian government's sale to Lufthansa and plans for its restructuring

Brussels, 11/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 11 February, the European Commission decided to open a formal investigation procedure into the privatisation and restructuring of Austrian Airlines whereby it will be taken over by Lufthansa. Following a privatisation procedure Lufthansa has been selected to buy the Austrian State's stake (41.56%) in Austrian Airlines.
