Parliament prepares assent procedure for EU-Cariforum EPA and for vote on seven other interim EPAs

Brussels, 22/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - Formal adoption of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the EU and the Cariforum has entered the finishing straight. The European Parliament is pulling out all the stops to prepare the assent procedure on the only full EPA already signed, from among those being negotiated since 2002 between the EU and the regions or countries of the ACP (Africa, Caribbean, Pacific) group, linked to the EU by the Cotonou Agreement.
