Brussels, 11/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 10 November, the European Commission cleared the acquisition of sole control of SAS SFMI Micromania of France by GameStop Corp. of the US. Both are active in the sale of video game products and accessories in their respective home countries. A separate operation, the acquisition of sole control of Vanderlande Industries BV (Vanderlande) of the Netherlands by its fellow Dutch company SHV Holdings NV (SHV), was also approved by the Commission on that same day. Vanderlande provides automatic handling material systems and accompanying services at airports and express parcel sorting facilities. SHV is a holding company with activities in various sectors. Both operations were examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (C.D./transl.rt)
