10/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - Following a complaint lodged by the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) - the European lobbying body for the chemical industry, the European Commission opened an anti-dumping investigation on 4 September, into imports of citric acid from China. A provisional anti-dumping duty was imposed on this product in June 2008 (EC regulation 488/2008). In a proposal presented on Thursday 6 November, the Commission called on the Council to establish a definitive anti-dumping duty and introduce a definitive charge into the provisional duty. Suggested anti-dumping duty rates range from 6.6% to 42.7% according to the company. Proposal text: http: //eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=COM: 2008: 0701: FIN: FR: PDF.
