EFSA believes French safeguard measure on genetically modified MON 810 maize is unfounded - Paris not backing down and says so

Brussels, 03/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - A contest may ensue between the French government and European Commission if the latter, in response on an opinion made on 31 October by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) demands Paris withdraw its safeguards against its genetically modified MON 810 crops in France. This maize, produced by the US Monsanto company, undergoes genetic modification to resist the maize locust.
