14/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - As part of the Open Days 2008, on Monday 6 October, the Veneto region held a conference on the risk of allergic reaction to Ambrosia Artemisiifolia, a plant which causes a strong allergic reaction affecting 40% of people who come into contact with it. The conference was opened by Venetian Health Minister Sandro Sandri. During his stay in Brussels; the minister held meetings with Director General of SANCO Robert Madelin, Health Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou and Catalan Health Minister Geli Fabrega. Discussion centred on the role the region can play in implementing the health strategy (2007-2013). (O.J./transl.rt)
