Solana concerned about political and humanitarian situation

Brussels, 07/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - EU High Representative for the CFSP Javier Solana has expressed his “serious concern” at developments in the political, military and humanitarian situation in the Kivus, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In a statement published on Tuesday 7 October, he expressed concern in particular at the recent statements by rebel chief Laurent Nkunda who has called for the overthrow of the Congolese government.
