Commission hopes to facilitate family reunification of foreigners

Brussels, 07/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 8 October, the Commission is presenting a report highlighting the need for greater harmonisation of the rules regarding family reunification enjoyed by third country nationals legally residing on the territory of EU member states.

In this field legislation - Directive 2003/86/EC of 22 September 2003 - tends to harmonise practice in member states. It applies to all member states except Ireland, Denmark and the United Kingdom. The report to...
