Commission wants to negotiate visa facilitation agreement with Georgia

Brussels, 29/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - At the Council of the EU, on Thursday 25 September, the European Commission recommended the opening of negotiations with Georgia for an agreement to facilitate the awarding of short stay visas and an agreement on readmission. In a press release, the European commissioner for justice and home affairs, Jacques Barrot, indicated: “Making the conditions for obtaining a visa would definitely improve cooperation and trade between the EU and Georgia....
