Switzerland and EU are close to finalising agreement on goods transport

Brussels, 18/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - Switzerland and the EU may soon be concluding an agreement on the transport of goods, whereby Switzerland would have the same status as an EU member state through recognition of equivalence of safety norms and standards applying to freight transport. During the sixth round of talks on this issue, on Wednesday 17 September in Brussels, the two parties reached agreement on the technical details of the accord.
