09/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European commissioner for justice and home affairs, Jacques Barrot, declared on 4 September in Brussels that the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) can expect the lifting of compulsory visas for their nationals as from 2009. According to Makfax, Barrot has thus confirmed that FYROM is the leading country in the region in connection with the visa liberalisation process. (B.C/transl.rh)
