New EFSA report on bisphenol A aims to provide reassurance about capacity of human body to eliminate the chemical

Brussels, 29/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - After assessing recent scientific data, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a further scientific opinion on 23 July 2008 providing reassurance about excretion of bisphenol A (BPA) from the human body. BPA is used with other chemicals in the manufacture of plastics and resins and is authorised for plastics coming into contact with food under EU Directive 2002/72/EC.
