29/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 29 July 2008, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of sole control of Interbanca SpA of Italy by General Electric Capital Corporation, controlled by General Electric Company (GE) of the US. GE is active in healthcare, energy, financial services, media and infrastructure. Interbanca provides financial services. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
