MEPs want to strengthen protection of personal data in police/judicial cooperation

Brussels, 18/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament's committee on civil liberties adopted its third report regarding the framework decision on the protection of personal data processed in the framework of judicial and police cooperation in criminal matters (third pillar). The report, which was presented by French socialist Martine Roure, was adopted unanimously (except for one abstention). MEPs are banking on a strengthened version, as they deemed the text to have been weakened...
